I hope you have already marked your calendar for Sunday, December 22, 2024 for our annual RROC So-Cal Holiday Party, which returns to December, as it should. This will be the last event of 2024, and the one that we have been waiting for. Let me remind you of the various activities that will take place. First of all, we will start about 11:00 a.m. with some tire kicking and an informal Concours in the driveway which is reserved for our Roll-Royce and Bentley motor cars. There will be a prize for the most festively decorated car. There will also be a prize for the best holiday clad male and female so dust off you holiday finery and plan on sprucing up your beautiful PMC with holiday extras. Hopefully Mother Nature will be kind to us again this year.
We will enjoy lunch at noon and as tradition has it, you will have a choice of 1) Grilled Garlic Basil Salmon with rice pilaf or 2) Roasted Prime Rib accompanied by Aus Jus and horseradish and a baked potato with sour cream, bacon, chives and shredded cheese. There will also be herb roasted vegetables, dinner salad, assorted rolls and a wide assortment of dessert bars. If history tells us anything, you won’t go away hungry! Please made sure you give your entrée choice of Salmon or Prime Rib when you make your reservation.
The festivities will begin once we are satiated from our lunch. We will begin with the RROC So-Cal rendition of the Twelve Days of Christmas. This is always a lively and often hysterical event that is often hard to get through because of all the special verses that have become an integral part of our caroling. No worries if you can’t carry a tune. That’s what makes it so much fun!
Following our caroling, we will commence with the wild, crazy, and unpredictablAe gift exchange. And when we say unpredictable and wild – we aren’t kidding. It generally gets a tad noisy. Every couple should bring one wrapped gift for this exchange, and please do not spend more than $30. It can be funny, silly, practical, PMC-related or something entirely different. It could be something you were gifted in the past and you didn’t love. Don’t stress over the gift; just have fun picking it out.

Directions: Get yourselves to the 110 freeway South, past the 405 and 91 Freeways. Exit freeway onto Anaheim Street. At the bottom of the offramp turn left towards Anaheim Street and turn right onto Anaheim Street. At the second signal, you are at the “five points”, do not make a sharp left turn and do not go straight ahead, but make a short of left turn onto Palos Verdes Drive North up the hill. The two lanes closest to the center of the road can turn left up the hill. Proceed on this street past Western Avenue until you reach Palos Verdes Drive East. Proceed up the hill for under 3 miles and you will pass Bronco on the right, Roan on the left, Coach on the left, Mustang on the right. Then about fifty feet on your right is the Eastfield Gate where you need to enter on the right side of the guard shack. If you reach Rocking Horse on your left and have not turned in at Eastfield, you have passed it. Safely make a U-turn and go back to the Eastfield gate which will now be on your left. There will be a Boulevard stop on the far side of the guard shack, and the next Boulevard stop will be Outrider Road, and make a left turn. My house is almost at the end of the street on your left.
